Caring For The Kids Of Jamaica
January 20, 2010 · Comments Are Closed
For years, Dave Sly has been doing what he can to help the people of Jamaica. Rather than wait for giant disasters like the earthquake in Haiti, he focuses on the every day problems that Jamaicans face and tries to help solve them. His most recent project is trying to raise $13,000 to buy a new vehicle for the Jacob’s Well Basic School. 2010 Ontario Men’s Curling Championship
January 20, 2010 · Comments Are Closed
Although the Curling Championship actually takes place in Napanee Ontario, I felt that it would be a good idea to let the people of Kingston know about it. It is a pretty big event and I am sure that a lot of people would be willing to make the short drive to see some top notch curling! The Championship takes place between February 1 – 7, 2010 and will be held at the Strathacona Paper Centre in Napanee. If you are interested in buying tickets for the event, you can call: 613-354-4423 or visit their website: 2010Tankard.com for more details. Read More →

Rotarians Raise Money For Haiti Earthquake Victims
January 19, 2010 · Comments Are Closed
Canadians have really stepped up in the past week and have donated a lot of money to the Red Cross to help the people of Haiti through this tragedy. The Rotary Club of Kingston is raising money for their Shelter Box program where they send shelter kits to areas that are hit by natural disasters. A Shelter Box is a large plastic container the size of a clothing trunk. Each box contains a sturdy tent... [Read the full story]
