Caring For The Kids Of Jamaica

For years, Dave Sly has been doing what he can to help the people of Jamaica. Rather than wait for giant disasters like the earthquake in Haiti, he focuses on the every day problems that Jamaicans face and tries to help solve them. His most recent project is trying to raise $13,000 to buy a new vehicle for the Jacob’s Well Basic School. Dave raised enough money a couple years ago to replace the transmission in the old vehicle so he knows how desperately they need a new bus.
Most of the projects he normally undertakes are funded by no more than a couple thousand dollars and doesn’t require much publicity. Since the ticket price of this new project is so expensive, he is now turning to the Ktown community for a little help. There are many other things that he would like to do for the school like furnish it with new computers but that doesn’t make much sense if the children can’t get to school, right?
The Jamaican community is doing what they can to help with the project by providing the vehicle to the school at cost. So if enough money is raised here in Canada, it will go directly to purchasing the van and no administration fees or expenses will be charged to the school.
Although Sly does not have a charitable number and does not issue receipts for any donations, he is asking for your help. If you would like to talk to him more about this project, feel free to email him here: info@daveslydogcare.com.
