City Council Back Bid For Memorial Cup

The city council has decided to step up and back the Kingston Frontenacs in their bid to host the 2011 Memorial Cup. The city is being asked to waive $20,000 in fees related to the event if the bid is successful.
Aside from the obvious economic benefit, Ktown will also receive national attention which will help promote our city as a great tourist destination. A shortlist of cities that are in the running for winning the Cup will be announced in March and the winner will be announced at this year’s Memorial Cup in May in Brandon, Manitoba. Good luck!
